Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

Music Merchandise has a 30-day return policy on eligible products. Returns must meet the following criteria:

  • Returned within 30 days of purchase.
  • Product remains unused and in its original packaging.
  • Receipt of return authorization.

Some items, due to their nature, are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. See our list of final sale items below.

Refund Process and Duration

To initiate a return authorization request, please email info[@]musicmerchandise.ca with images of the item you wish to return. Ensure that your Music Merchandise Order ID is included in the subject line.

Once your return is approved and the item is returned to our warehouse, the refund will be initiated to your original method of payment. Typically, it takes 3 to 5 business days, after the receipt of the returned goods for the funds to be credited back to your account. However, the exact duration may vary depending on your payment provider or bank.

Restocking Fee Policy

Items returned must be in new, resalable condition subject to prior approval by Music Merchandise. If not:

  • Items showing slight wear: 20% restocking fee.
  • Items with notable use or minor damage: Up to 50% fee.

Manufacturer's Warranty

Items bought from Music Merchandise often come with a manufacturer's warranty effective after the receipt of goods. These warranties mainly address defects in craftsmanship and materials. However, their duration and specifics vary by product and brand. Should you encounter product issues you deem warranty-covered, email info[@]musicmerchandise.ca, with "Warranty Claim - [Your Order ID]" as the subject.

Bear in mind that warranties generally exclude damages from regular wear, misuse, or mishaps. Customers usually handle shipping fees for warranty-related returns unless the manufacturer says otherwise. Unauthorized alterations or repairs can void the warranty. While we at Music Merchandise offer guidance, the manufacturer has the final say on warranty matters.

Packaging For Returns

Items should be returned in new, resalable condition in their original packaging. Always include the return authorization and a copy of the receipt or order confirmation inside the package. Proper packaging helps prevent damage and ensures efficient processing of your return.

Price Changes for Exchanges

When you exchange an item with Music Merchandise and the replacement has a lower value, we'll credit the difference to your account. If the new item is pricier, we'll charge the additional amount. All price determinations are based on the current listing on MusicMerchandise.ca.

Final Sale Items

For the assurance and hygiene of our customers, the following products are non-returnable:

Personal and Hygienic Items:

  • Harmonicas, woodwind, and brass instruments and accessories.
  • Earplugs and in-ear monitors.

Customized or Special Items:

  • Custom-made or personalized instruments.
  • Special order items.

Consumables and Accessories:

  • Strings that have been installed or removed from sealed packaging - as they can degrade once opened.

Item Condition:

  • Items that have been used outside the home or studio.
  • Items removed from their original packaging.
  • Items that have been modified or altered.

Promotional and Discounted Items:

  • Clearance items or those items marked as final sale in the product's description.

Damaged Items

If an order arrives damaged, report it as soon as possible but within 5 business days of receiving it. Send a photo of the damaged item and your order number to info[@]musicmerchandise.ca. Damages reported after this period may fall under manufacturer warranties.

Free Return Details

Music Merchandise covers the cost of one free return per order through Canada Post service for regular-priced orders that qualified for free shipping. If your order didn't qualify for free shipping, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.
