Aquila's New Nylgut® ukulele sets use a synthetic string material that Aquila developed and tested in its own laboratory.
Before You String
- Like gut, New Nylgut® can be damaged by sharp edges. Make sure the nut and bridge have no sharp edges and the nut grooves are smooth and not too deep. Very fine 600-grit sandpaper or 000 steel wool removes sharp edges.
- The strings sound their best once they have fully settled, which can take some time. To get stable tuning in a few minutes, pinch each string at its midpoint, pull it firmly sideways and retune. Repeat until the string stays in tune.
Available Sets
- Soprano: High G (GCEA) or Low G (GCEA, one wound string)
- Concert: High G (GCEA) or Low G (GCEA, one wound string)
- Tenor: High G (GCEA) or Low G (GCEA, one wound string)
- Baritone: High G (GCEA) or Low D (DGBE, wound D and G strings)
