Construction and Materials
- Octagonal pernambuco wood stick
- Fully lined ebony frog featuring a Parisian eye and an abalone shell back slide
- Genuine horsehair
- Nickel-silver mounted button
- Lapping varies, finished with either fine English imitation whalebone or silver-plated copper wire
Who This Is For
- Violinists looking for a full-size pernambuco bow with traditional ebony and nickel-silver mountings.
- Octagonal bow sticks are generally shaped to be slightly stiffer than round sticks made from the same wood, providing a firmer feel and response.
- Wood bows are sensitive to humidity and temperature changes; consider a carbon fibre alternative if you frequently travel or play in challenging climates.
